October events at Grayton Beach State Park
Tuesday October 1 | 9:00 a.m. Join our Park Services Specialist for a guided walk on the forest trail. Learn about the flora and fauna found on the forest side of the state park. Participants will meet at the Ranger Station. Appropriate clothing, closed toe shoe, drinking water is required. Insect repellant, sun screen, and hat is suggested. This walk will take approximately 1—1 1/2 hours.
Wednesday October 16 | 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Canoe tour of Western Lake channel and outfall. Our Park Services Specialist will lead you on an exciting trip on Western Lake discussing the importance and rarity of coastal dune lakes and what animal/birds call the lakes home. Please sign-up at the ranger station prior to the day of the event. Event is open to the first 9 guest to sign-up. Participants that have sign-up should meet at the boat ramp parking/canoe launch area. This tour will take 1—2 hours. Sunscreen and drinking water are suggest items to bring.
Friday thru Monday | October 18 -21 Back to Nature 2013 presented by the South Walton Community Council. Come explore the diversity of flora, fauna, and natural landscapes that make up the beauty that is South Walton County Florida and Scenic Highway 30-A.
