The latest real estate report for June 2016 includes statistics for single family homes, townhomes, and condos in Walton County, Florida. Single family closed sales were up 10% for June compared to the same month last year. The percentage of closed sales paid in cash was up a sizeable 20%. Inventory was up 5%. The State Parks and State Forest Lands in South Walton are spectacular. Protected lands make up about 40% of the land south of the bay. We are so blessed to have such treasure all around us. The lakes, bayous, creeks, forests, dunes and beaches in our parks make SoWal a very special place. Incredible landscapes with coastal dune lakes, lake outfalls kissing the Gulf, flowering dune magnolias, soaring pelicans, dancing dolphins, flower-covered dunes - the wonders of coastal nature are everywhere you turn. After 28 years in business, Pat Miller’s Goatfeathers Seafood Markets are still a main draw here in SoWal. On the Scenic 30A “west side,” in Santa Rosa Beach, the Seafood Market opened at the same time as his Goatfeathers Restaurant in 1988. The newer Seagrove Market location opened in 2000, giving residents and visitors on the “east side” of Scenic 30A a closer option for their take-out seafood. Continue reading... What do you think? It's been busy here at the beach ! The long week of the 4th of July had lots & lots of folks here and fortunately for me, a bunch of 'em are fishers. Red Snappers have been the main target for the past couple weeks but there have been lots of Kings, a few Groupers, scads Of Vermillions, some Amberines and even a few Cobia caught by my anglers. It's that time of the year when I have no time for anything but fishin'! The weather is great, the fish are biting and there are lots of folks that want to go on the water. I am up at 3:30, on the beach at 5, finishing up around 7 and in bed by 8:30. It's been a while since I wrote a report but this is still gonna be kinda thin on words...
