Hi there everyone we returned on Sat at about 9pm and I have rested up and ready to give my Trip Report. I know people usually put this in the lounge, but I'm talk'n about Sowal so I thought it should go here. If it's wrong we all know Big Daddy will kindly escort me to the lounge.
We arrived on Sat. 9th with it raining, which we soon would learn to plauge about half of our trip.
Went to Plublix for the rest of our supplies, then off to Emerald Hill Condos in Seagrove. We rented a poolside studio and we even had an Ocean View from our patio. Ah how nice. When I say we, I mean, my sister and I.
Rain cleared out and we headed out to Amore's for supper. While on the way over the sun was setting and shown just beautifully over Western Lake. If there would have been a good place to pull over I would've taken a pic. Sorry RO.
Our second day we awoke to a rainy day, so we decided to go into Seaside for breakfast at Modica, looked around Sundog and the other shops in Seaside and by lunch time the rain was clearing out so we headed back to the condo and headed to the beach. It was cloudy on and off, but we were able to stay and relax on the beach the rest of the day. My sister fixed some burgers and we enjoyed supper by the pool and just sitting on the boardwalk for teatime. First time we didn't run around every night getting ready to go out, so happy to experience several teatimes this trip.
Monday I couldn't believe it cloudy again, but we attempted to go down to the beach, but it started raining. We got ourselves ready and went out for lunch at Seagrove Market. YUMMY!YUMMY! Did some more shopping around, rain cleared out, so was able to get some beach time in. Ate in for supper, then went into Seaside for dessert.
Next day RAIN!RAIN! all day on Tuesday. What to do? What to do? Went into Destin for a little bit and did some shopping, but didn't stay long, just wanted to stay on 30-A. Went back and ate luch at RedBar, loved it. Can't wait to go back. Later that night got ourselves gussied up and went out to Pandora's for some Waco Ramblers fun. A must see for entertainment when in Sowal. This is where I met SJ which finally brought a little of sunshine into our trip. Unfortunately Waco had to cut their time short due to all the rain.
Wed. came and I was afraid to open the curtains afraid there would be more rain. Praise the Lord the sun was shining:clap_1: So we headed to the beach and that is where we stayed all day and was able to enjoy another day for teatime. Didn't feel like getting all ready to go out so we ordered from Angelina's and went and picked it up, came back and watched a movie.
Thursday sunshine again:clap_1: Spent the day at Deer Lake State Park for somewhere different. Once we trekked down the beach walkover over the dunes it was worth it. If you want some time alone this is the place. There was only 3 other people there and occassionally someone would walk by. Just beautiful. I already miss it.
We were so indecisive about where to eat on Thurs, first it was 331 for the Soul Food Buffet, it looked good but just decided it wasn't what I was in the mood for. Next we stopped at Snapperhead's thought we would catch some more Waco Ramblers action, but just wasn't in a burger mood and all I could remember about them was their Smoked Applewood Bacon that sounds worthy, but in the end we already new we liked RedBar so headed there for supper which was the right choice.
Friday was our last day and it ended perfectly. We started with breakfast at Spiazzia's( not sure of the spelling) in Seaside, did some finalizing with our shopping and went back to enjoy one last day at the beach . The water was perfect the seeweed had dissappeared some from the storms. Just relaxed, talked to some people who were staying there, hello if your reading this and soaked up as much sun as I possibly could. AHHHHH
Then my last soaking up the sun had to finally end, came in, put on some real clothes, besides my swimsuit and we had already decided to end our last night with eating at Borago's. If you eat anywhere on 30-A eat here and REDBAR. They were our favorites on this trip.
Our last morning, I went out on the beach walkover and just enjoyed being able to hear the waves and looked out onto one of God's beautiful creations one last time until next year.
Our final place to stop was somewhere for breakfast we chose the Hibiscus Coffee house cafe, met one of the owners and a couple from Germany. If I had a choice would eat here everyday for breakfast.
We then headed home for Ky, I so hated to leave. Well everything I sought out to see on this trip I saw. Waco Ramblers, the delicious Scallops at Borago and the most important of all not to inflate his head or anthing, but that know it all jerk SJ, who I can personally say is not a jerk. Also not to forget met Linda H. who was on Amazing Race while out on a shopping excursion, nice to met ya girl!
That was my trip, besides all the rain everthing turned out great, got in lots of time at the beach, which I can never get enough, ate some great food, which I'll elaborate in the food section and pics will be posted ASAP. Cause I RO will be asking for them.
