today, I went to work early at the nursing home. I got up at 4:30, so I figured wtf. Worked on reports for a while. Went to morning meeting. Answered numerous phone calls. Read e-mail on a new system that is really starting to piss me off on day 3. I spent days 1 and 2 trying to re-set password and re-enter contacts. It took me til today to figure out that the reason my boss's emails kept coming back was that I was using her "nickname" instead of her proper name.
This is National Nursing Home Week AND National Nurse's Week. Ann did a big spread for the nurses. I ate at 10:30.
My friend that I've known since 5th grade came and I ate again at 1:30.
After lunch, she visited with one of our residents that we just figured out we went to high school with!!! I've known the lady for 11 freakin' years and all the sudden it just clicked that she was one year ahead of me in school! She has no memory of either one of us, in fact, she can't remember her kids names, but she enjoyed the visit and my friend brought her cigarettes--she was happy.
Had a meeting with a social worker from a local hospital. We made plans to drink and cuss next week.
It was a good day.
