The funniest part of this story? There are no lawyers from Birmingham involved in this referendum. First graders play the telephone game better than Team NO.

No superintendent search committee has been formed by anyone involved in the YES campaign. It is high unlikely that any of us has had the time to do this , between school, jobs, family, friends, a real life, and being amused by the opposition conspiracy theories.

The teacher union is not taking over the school system. Oh, and as a group, they aren't liberal, after all, this is Walton County.

I wish the people who either want to run for superintendent, have family members with aspirations, or somehow will politically gain something with an elected superintendent, will come out and be honest now . That would be some great entertainment. If you are really brave, let's see your qualifications now, other than being a Walton County resident and wanna-be politician.

Not saying it is true, but many people from Birmingham, Atlanta etc. have homes in South Walton. Some would relocate here permanently if they had confidence in the school system. Others might understand that a great school system not only improves students, but it improves wages, the economy, property values and quality of life.

This thread is worthless without a mention of the Koch Brothers acute interest in the Walton County school district:rotfl::roll:

Superintendent qualifications? Is there an upper age limit? If not, I might run. I'm certainly more qualified than some who have run in the past and whether some like it or not, I am a Walton County resident. (I'm joking about the running but not the qualifications)
