I have an old round bellied mandolin, the strings are the same as the violin, which I play. The difference is they are steel, double, and it's strummed instead of using a bow. The trick is getting the pick to go back and forth between the double strings G,D,A, & E. The music is played in the treble clef, melody, and the fingerings are the same as the violin.

florida girl, come out and play. you know there's a boatload of music around here. let's hear your violin...
