I miss June's as well. Used to be our first stop when we arrived before we hit 30-A. Was a great spot to enjoy your breakfast on the porch while gazing at the beautiful Gulf!

It seems to me that after every storm since Opal, the beaches in Destin have always looked better than ours in SoWal. I use the beach behind The Back Porch (and June's Dune's...so sad it's gone) as an example. The sand there seemed whiter and more abundant....the old feet squeaking in the sand trick!

These photo may be a bit deceiving. The beach at that location cannot be wider than 25-35 meters, fairly narrow compared to Grayton, but probably no larger than the average width in SoWal. The color is very white, and it appears that they imported much of the sand between the parking lot and the boardwalk.
