Kurt, your photos turn out like I always think mine are going to, but they never do.

You certainly captured the beauty of Alys Beach in its infancy. I see other comments wondering about the whiteness and the overall design. The uniqueness of the design and the care they are giving to the details leads me to believe it will become a huge tourist draw, beyond what Seaside is now.

If so it will be a great place to hang after Labor Days.

Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos. I was having an irratating morning, and they really changed my attitude. So talented. Couple of questions..Where is the house? Is there a group that kayaks frequently? I have never seen may kayaking when I have been to visit.

Thanks!

The house is the Wesley Mansion at Eden State Gardens on Tucker bayou in Point Washington, north of Seagrove where the bay ends and the intracoastal begins.

Emerald Coast Paddlers is one group I've heard of:

Emerald Coast Paddlers is the only club for kayakers around here of which I am aware. Marlice is the president and she owns the Kayak Experience in Destin on the Harbour. They have demo days at the store once a month, and you can test out a variety of boats on the Harbour for free!:D She is a sweet person and lives in the Pt Washington area, not too far from Eden Gardens. They have monthly trips and welcome peeps with canoes too. Typically, the club travels some distance, so you will find that most people doing the longer trips have long boats to make travel easier.

Alys Beach is coming along fast. It will be another place of great spaces, gulf breezes, evening concerts, and holiday jubilee. You will not want to visit without sunglasses or welding goggles, especially after a night of vacation imbibing.

The coffee shop, Fonville Press, is open and has a neat courtyard space seen in the photos. The other courtyard is at the welcome center. Stop by and give Karen or Karen a shout. You will not have to face an "intervieew" to check the place out or buy a place. See Christian for a tour of the environmental-friendly / green landscaping and building practices.

There are 3 lots available north of 30-A($815,000, $1,395,000, $1,675,000) and 3 south of 30-A ($1,475,000, $1,600,000, $1,725,000). 18 month build out.

Awesome photos Kurt! We must have just missed you. We drove down to ALYS yesterday to check it out. It is going to be a special place. Also, checked out the Hilton home once again. Man, that thing is big.

You should see it 24X30 - :D

Hmm.....verrrrrry interesting thought. My inlaws were wanting to get us a gift, and we couldnt think of a thing we wanted......until now......!! I want an original Kurt! Oh, but which one! Tough call. But what a great idea.

By the way, my favorite part of that photo is the crystally water underneath his back foot. And how the long shadow of the front leg just draws you into the shot.
