I was watching Fox News this morning and Joe Bastardi, a tropical meteorologist with accuweather.com, says that there are numerous tropical waves scattered about the Atlantic, one is east of the Bahamas and is expected to move into the Gulf and he highlighted the FL panhandle as an area that needed to keep a close watch on this potential storm. :sosad: :sosad: :sosad:

Stan is going to Mexico if that's the one he was talking about.

Nope, Stan is not the one. This wave is in the Atlantic and appears to be heading this way, not necessarily Walton Co.

Right. The latest model runs have it scattered from Around Jacksonville over to Apalachicola Bay. So its worth watching.

This system has been labeled Invest 92 by the navy and right now it does look like a Florida system. And this is what the NHC has to say about this area.

A LARGE AND COMPLEX SYSTEM OF DISTURBED WEATHER THAT EXTENDS FOR
SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES FROM THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS IS
ASSOCIATED WITH A SURFACE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL
BAHAMAS. SURFACE DATA AND SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE
TROUGH IS CONTINUING TO BECOME A LITTLE BETTER DEFINED...BUT MOST
OF THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE LOCATED WELL TO THE EAST OF
THE AREA OF LOWEST PRESSURE. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE FORECAST TO
BECOME MORE FAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE DEVELOPMENT OVER THE
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...AND A NOAA RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT IS
SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE AREA TOMORROW...IF NECESSARY. AS
THIS SYSTEM MOVES WESTWARD...HEAVY RAINS AND GUSTY WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO THE CENTRAL AND NORTHWESTERN BAHAMAS...AND
REACH THE FLORIDA PENINSULA BY LATE TOMORROW OR WEDNESDAY.

What is the potential timeline of Invest 92? My wife is going down for 3 days this week starting tomorrow and then we have renters in for the weekend. Arggggg we don't need no more stinkin storms in the Gulf. No finger nails left. :bang:
