We dined at Cafe 30A last week, have for a number of years, and have always enjoyed it thoroughly as our pricey dinner (we also include Fish Out of Water in that mix, too), but found the place very loud, liuder than we rembered it being before, and the food just so-so with a warm wedge salad, and cool entrees although the dessert was scrumtuous. The food service was its usual professional quality, but food arrived too quickly with little time for conversation and pleasure. We were in and out in just over an hour and that was salad, entrees, and dessert with coffee and shared bottle of wine. Hhmmmm.doubt we will go back unless we hear reports that it has settled back into its former leisure dining experience.
We don't like Shades much either, guess we burned out on it after three successive years of going there and trying almost everything finding most of the offerings, mediocre.
We have two favorites at Spicey Noodle on 98, and like what we've had in Rosemary Beach at both places although the space is limited and the place seethes with loud kids and posturing adults. We tried the Terrace but felt like we were back at my maiden Aunt's for Sunday dinner. Kinda plastic grape leaves and plastic covered stuff; food was OK.
We like B&A's in Seaside, Piccolo's, D&K's, Dewey's, Dusty's (on Beach Front Road in PCB), and are continuing the search; Coccon's for take out, Horsefeather's Seafood Market for takeout cook-at-the-house seafood, anb Publix on 98 at PCB for their deli.
