Hopefully the poor fellow is legit and will find what he needs.

Anyone who spends any amount of time near one of the corners frequented by homeless may have developed a different attitude toward this group, going so far as to lump them all into one group. I have developed such an attitude. Throw stones at will.

My personal observation would be that apparently every homeless person is a God fearing vet looking for work. I swear the signs they all use are from the same copy machine.

In the past, I'm one of those suckers who approached one of them and offered a meal I'd picked up at McDonalds, only to have it thrown in the street because it wasn't really what they wanted. They treated me like I was the idiot. That mistake won't be made again.

If you want to help, just engage in conversation. Do not assume they want a handout. These are real people with real stories. You will find out what kind of a person they are.

I believe I saw this gentleman on the South side of 98 East of the winn dixie, two days ago. He was in the company of the BCSO.

Has he asked for or does he want help? Often we assume people want the same things we want or think are best for them. In truth the only person we can know what is best for is ourselves. If the man does want help I applaud those who answer his call. The only time I've been burned by someone I was helping was when I gave with expectation.

I know that he was escorted out of the area. He was headed to Carrabelle, I'm not sure I he has resources there.
