Got a recorded call about 11:15 saying Clyde B Wells bridge will be closed approx 3 hours - north and south - due to accident - doesn't sound good - anyone know what is going on?
U.S. Highway 331 near the Clyde B. Wells Bridge is now open. Authorities closed the bridge for several hours after a three-car wreck killed one person. The 10 a.m. head-on collision injured four, one of whom died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Another was taken in critical condition by medical helicopter, while the rest were taken by ambulance, according to first responders.
Three vehicles were involved in the accident: A gold colored mini-van, a red 4-door Chevy Blazer, and a silver Volkswagen sedan. The Volkswagen sustained only front-end damage, but both the min-van and the SUV were completely totaled, and the SUV had rolled over in the accident. Emergency workers on the scene had to use the jaws of life to remove the occupants from the seriously damaged vehicles.

Both the SUV and the Volkswagen were registered with Florida license plates; the minivan was registered in Alabama.
The names of those involved, and further details of the accident have not yet been released.

Seagrovegirl, you are so right about giving thanks to the rescue people who are called to scenes like this everyday. Just seeing the photos of the vehicles is enough to shake up most people, yet these guys see so much more. I don't know how they do it day after day. I think we are all thankful for those guys.
