Each year the fun begins at The Red Bar in Grayton Beach as folks roll out of bed to parade around the town... It is a tradition for locals, and visitors really enjoy jumping in too! Such a laid back affair and filled with flags, kids, dogs and laughs! The Grayton Beach Neighborhood Association warns that water guns are not permitted, but somehow they are always part of the event. Wouldn't be the same without 'em.

Line up at the Red Bar starts at 8:00am, with the parade starting at 8:30am. Decorate your cars, jeeps, boats, bikes, scooters, etc. Everyone is welcome! The parade will end at Grayton Coast Properties for watermelon and lemonade.

After, head directly to the beach and cool off by jumping into the Gulf of Mexico... then take it easy, relax and enjoy your day! Find out what else is going on in Grayton Beach and around South Walton on the 4th by checking SoWal Events and Live Music Calendars.

About 25 folks braved the wind and the rain to carry on the oldest 4th of July parade tradition in Grayton Beach. Those who saw the spectacle were awed by the patriotic spirit of those who participated. After the parade, everyone met at the Western Lake Pass for the 1st Annual Open Pass Invitational, where we rode our boogie boards down the outflow to the Gulf!

It was truly epic and I hope to post some photos later.

Wow! Thanks for the update! Really appreciate it... First Annual Open Pass Invitational!!! Does this mean we'll celebrate the opening of the pass every time or just on the 4th of July, if open? Very exciting...

POST PIX!!!:thanks:
