wow all the taxes went up huge and this was with only a 1/2 value increase. this means if value
prices went back to 2006 taxes would be 20% higher than then. This is with the proposed budget

The problem with that is it is costing local government more to operate this year than in 2006. If you want 2006 numbers you need to have 2006 gas prices, insurance prices, etc. It's easy to just pick at local government but if you are going to do that tell the whole story. Cost of operating has increased every year and this is about the first year property values have gone up since 2009.

No henry you misunderstood me.over over past yrs the value of homes went up and your property taxes went up. the actual multiplier or millage rate usually stays the same as the values rise thus the tax rises. this time what shocked me is the value hardly rose and the multiplier sky rocketed. That means if the value had risen 10% the actual taxes could have risen 20-25%

Among other "needs" the school district needs the extra money to buy a $1 million plus piece of property from M. C. Davis to build a new school.

But you are a local government employee, I appreciate your hard work but you have a pretty good gig.

I can understand a slight increase each year. Double digits seems excessive.
