If you are near Alys Beach, there is a great playground behind Fonville Press. Home of the Fonville hill.

There is always the beach.

Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Rent a tandem bike. Take a free sandcastle making class in the summer. Play in a fountain (Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, I don't know if the Villages of South Walton fountains are working again). Rent a Kayak and if you're lucky you may be joined by dolphins (we were). Go fishing (get a license, kids under 12 don't need a license, go to the pier in Panama City Beach and pay to get a license, poles, etc.). Walk the short trail at Alys Beach. Swim laps in a pool. Make up pool games with kids (our kids made up a game called gutter ball for the pool). Float on a float that has a back and a place to keep a drink and read a good book (or bad book or People Magazine). Walk a nice trail in a state park.
