Last night, Lose & Associates, Walton County’s contracted design firm for the South Walton Sports Park, held their first of several planned public design meetings.

During this meeting, the presenters addressed the upcoming planning and design process, potential amenities and took input from the public.

If you weren't able to attend, we still want to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to send us your thoughts and ideas via a newly added online survey.

The survey will be active until Friday, May 15th and a link is provided below.

At this time, there has not been any official dates set, however, the next meeting should be held sometime in June 2015 and will focus on the initial design of the facility.

Thanks for posting this link.

I was surprised an aquatic center or pool wasn't a standard choice in the drop down menu. An aquatic program with fitness classes could bring together all ages, not just sports related community activities primary targeted to a younger generation. The Orange Beach Parks and Rec Program is a great example of community center and fields built for locals with tourist revenue (at least back when my in-laws lived there): http://www.obparksandrec.com/aquaticscenter.html

The annual Rec center membership was ridiculously low because of how it is subsidized, current rates:
Resident Single fee - $75.00 per person per year Resident Family fee - $175.00 per family per year
