Grayton Seafood Co. OPENS Wednesday, Nov. 18... serving lunch and dinner Wed thru Sun...
Grayton Seafood Co. has been working for months on preparation of opening day in their new restaurant at Uptown Grayton in Grayton Beach. Owner Kenny Griner is no stranger to successful restaurants. He opened Chet's Seafood in Pace, Florida 25 years ago and has been serving fresh, local seafood ever since with a very loyal following. Kenny has roots in Grayton Beach and has been scouting the area for the "just right" restaurant space for several years. He found that perfect place in Uptown Grayton, signed a lease and began remodeling.
"I want it to have the vibe that it has been around forever. Our logo even says "Since 1890", which is actually when Grayton Beach was founded, but it's fun to play on that. Our motto is Grayt Food and Tall Tales," says Kenny.
Grayton Seafood Co. will serve only Gulf shrimp and locally sourced seafood. It will always be local and fresh. Kenny insists, "You support your local fisherman and economy by buying local seafood." Kenny also says, "If you never run out of seafood, you don't have fresh seafood." Grayton Seafood Co. recognizes that procuring local seafood every day of the year is dependent on variables such as seasonality, weather and fishing restrictions and that means their selections will always be changing.
Grayton Seafood Co. will open Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00am. For the winter, hours will be Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m, and will go to full time hours for the 2016 season.
