New Zip Code for parts of SoWal

It was announced on the news today that the portion of South Walton that currently has the 32413 zip code (Panama City Beach) will be switched to a new zip code on July 1st. The new zip code will be 32461, which is currently used by the Rosemary Beach post office. This will affect Inlet Beach, Watersound Origins, Alys Beach, Seacrest, Camp Creek. Interesting and welcome change. It's been 15 years of having to prove that we live in Walton County rather than Bay County because of our PCB zip code.

PITA for those who have to deal with address changes (the company I work for just ordered new stationery with 32413 - ouch), but this is excellent news and long overdue. It affects mail delivery, street names, sales tax (yes, sales tax - lots of folks would initially get registered in the wrong county based on the zip code), and so much more. Always wondered why, since the Miramar Beach post office zip code was later given to all "Destin" addresses in Walton County, they didn't do the same for us with 32461. Happy to see it!
