Attention parents and community members concerned about population growth and school expansion in South Walton:
There will be a Walton County School District workshop regarding growth on Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 3:15, in the SWHS media center. Land is purchased for the new elementary school and it is in the works, but there is special concern that the high school needs at least 8-10 new classrooms just to catch up to the enrollment. Right now the district has given us portables, which are not acceptable except for very short term use, especially when an addition has been discussed for years. Please attend to show the district that our community expects action on an addition to the high school ASAP.
