Celebrating its 17th year, this two-night outdoor film festival is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and motivating audiences about issues that matter. Each year, a selection of films from the International Film Festival is taken on the road to reach audiences who otherwise would not have a chance to experience the festival. The films selected for the show will explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of exploring cultures, preserving, environments, and promoting adventure.

Adventure, life lessons and environmental messages brand this tour as an international quest to encourage change and education through striking imagery and stories of perseverance. WaterColor Resort offers an outdoor setting for these moving films with a starry backdrop to enhance the unfolding clips of thought-provoking films.

Festival gates open at 6:00 p.m., Films begin at 7:00 p.m. Selections of festival fare, wine and beer will be available for purchase. Please bring a blanket or low-back chairs for seating (height restrictions apply). No outside chairs are allowed into the event until the gates open. Any chairs placed early without approval will be removed.

Mountainfilm KIDZ
Kidz Kino is a mixture of films specifically created for kids 6-12 years old and is located in the WaterColor LakeHouse Friday and Saturday evening. Supervised by the Recreation Staff, this event allows parents to drop off their children to watch an evening of kid-friendly movies created for and some even by kids, and of course pizza! Kidz Kino pricing is the same as the regular admission pricing. See dates for specific pricing details. Open to ages 6-12.

No outside food, beverage or coolers allowed in the MountainFilm Festival Gates.
No pets allowed to this event.
Mountainfilm on Tour at WaterColor is a rain or shine event. Ticket purchases are non-refundable.

The new Harvest Wine & Food Festival takes place during the same weekend as the annual MountainFilm on Tour in WaterColor (Nov 3 & 4)! A very exciting weekend in South Walton! Harvest Wine & Food Festival is a new wine festival in South Walton by Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF). Harvest Wine & Food Festival takes place in WaterColor Nov. 2-5 for a weekend filled with celebrity winemaker dinners on Thursday night (select restaurants), al fresco wine tasting party Fri night at the WaterColor Beach Club and grand tasting on Saturday afternoon in Cerulean Park.

This year, the DCWAF awarded a record $2.7 million to 15 local charity groups & organizations. Since 2005, DCWAF has donated more than $15 million to Northwest Florida children’s charities to help more than 90,000 kids. DCWAF is currently ranked as the third largest charity wine auction in the country by Wine Spectator Magazine. The foundation’s mission is to connect wine enthusiast with children in need in Northwest Florida.

Celebrating its 17th year, the two-night outdoor film festival is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and motivating audiences about issues that matter. Celebrate the 17th Annual Mountainfilm on Tour at WaterColor Resort with two days of extraordinary films created to inspire courage, thought and empathy. Adventure, life lessons and environmental messages brand this tour in Mountainfilm's mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

Gates open at 6 p.m. with films beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are now available online at MOUNTAINFILMFL.COM for $35 per day or $60 for a two-day weekend pass. Tickets purchased at the gate are $40 per day or $70 for a two-day weekend pass, based on availability. Kidz Kino day passes may be purchased for $35 in advance or $40 at the door; parents must be present to sign their children in and out of the BoatHouse. Food, beer, and wine will also be available for purchase at the festival.

Mountainfilm 2017 Lineup at WaterColor, Florida will be presented by Jason Merritt, an avid skier and enjoys anything outdoors in the San Juan Mountains. Jason is passionate about bringing the transformative content of Mountainfilm to audiences around the world.

Friday films include: The Perfect Night, Johanna Under the Ice, Danny MacAskill's Wee Day Out, A Field Guide to Losing Your Friends, My Irnik, Lost in Light, HAFE: The Story Behind, Das Fischer, Ditch the Van, The Time Travelers, La Langosta.

Saturday films include: Denali's Raven, Ascend, John Shacklee: A Fairy Tale, Guided, Where the Wild Things Play, Boys in the Bugs, Zain's Summer From Refugee to American Boy, The Rugby Boys of Memphis, Ice Call - Sam Favret.

Join Rob Prechtl, star of The Time Travelers, to discuss the filme with Q+A to follow. Coffee Talk is open to the public, Saturday, November 4th from 9:30 - 10:30 AM, located in WaterColor Inn Library.

Join Eco Tour Guide, Karl Renelt, a certified Master Naturalist, for a paddle on Western Lake on Saturday, November 4th at 11 AM. Event is open to the public. Guests may bring a board, kayak or canoe (rentals also available) at WaterColor BoatHouse.
