Fall is a time for festivals, cultural arts, music and plenty of outdoor events and adventure in South Walton and along the Emerald Coast of Florida. Wine and food festivals, beer festivals, Oktoberfest in PCB, outdoor/fall festivals, new seasons for theater, symphonies and ballet, and outdoor music at many of our favorite venues. The time for exploring our beautiful parks, beaches and wild things is now.

Enjoy every minute of it and don't miss some of your favorite events coming up such as Bloody Mary Festival at The Market Shops, the new Harvest Wine and Food Festival in WaterColor, Mountainfilm on Tour in WaterColor, Seeing Red Wine Festival in Seaside, Baytowne Beer Festival in Sandestin, Festival of the Arts in Destin, Destin Seafood Festival, Flutterby Festival, Eden Gardens Fall Film Series (Frogs is in the lineup of course) and so much more.

Like many wonderful small towns we have an abundance of energy in the Fall as we breathe a sigh of relief from the heat and crowds. A successful summer season is appreciated by all of us who live and work in South Walton. Fall is a busy shoulder season with family fall breaks and so many festivals and outdoor events.

We always appreciate the beautiful weather with a touch of cool air with highs in the glorious 70s. Spending the holidays here is our favorite thing to do with a slower pace, yet many SoWal traditions and adventures to enjoy.

It's also the season for seeing local friends out and about at restaurants, bars, events and yes - the beach. It's time for live music, wine, food and bonfires. Wednesday night at The Bay, Sundays at The Red Bar, Saturday nights at Old Florida Fish House, Sunday afternoons at Local Catch, Friday nights at Modica Market, cocktail time at Borago. Family time on the trails at Grayton Beach State Park, Eden Gardens or Deer Lake Parks.

Halloween parties and events are always a blast. Then Christmas holiday celebrations kickoff during Thanksgiving weekend. Wow, New Year's Eve festivities are just around the corner. But let's not get ahead of ourselves yet.

Get outside, visit our local restaurants and shops throughout the offseason, and celebrate the most beautiful time of year at the beach right now. See what's coming to South Walton this Fall at SoWal.com/Events Calendar. It is filled with plays, festivals, beer and wine tastings, farmers markets, Sunday brunches and live music.

Enjoy every minute of it. The best is yet to come 2017.
