Let's see 12+/- code enforcement officers (in name only)@estimated $40K per or 480,000 annual payroll or almost $5M over ten years...cameras looking pretty cheap.....Actually TDC is a typical government agency employee chart:
Second largest office by far, only to public works.
Why do we have a TDC? Who benefits most from the TDC? Restaurants? Businesses on 30A and Scenic Hwy? Hotels? Beach vendors? Why is the government taxing $20 MILLION a year marketing for private businesses? Because I don't want or need the marketing. If the marketing is that important for local businesses why aren't the business paying for their own marketing? TDC are not real estate agents or construction engineers. Let public works manage beach construction. End the TDC and put the $20 million a year in taxes back into the local economy were the free market will develop more jobs than the TDC ever could.

That idea is not new. It seems to be a pretty consistent thought with a lot of people. Getting rid of the TDC.

Anyone know the status of the BP money investment? Restore Act?
Constant Stare would be a great BP Money beach investment. Real time awareness of all 26 miles of beach, keep ALL the Walton vehicles off the beach and on the road where needed more and can respond quicker when alerted by beach monitors.
Wouldn't need code enforcement, Sheriff, or TDC Constant Drive.
