Monday, September 10; 6:45pm - 8:15pm
Where: Walton County Library, Coastal Branch, 437 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459

Join SWCC for a public forum on Beach Activities on September 10th @ 6:45 pm at the Walton County Coastal Branch Library.

The purpose is to give the public and opportunity to discuss trash collection on the beach, code enforcement, beach vendors, and public beach access and develop some workable solutions.

Once we collect this input, SWCC will make recommendations to the BCC. This forum is about identifying potential solutions to some of the challenges on our beaches.

We will not be discussing Customary Use. Brian Kellenberger, TDC Director of Beach Operations, will join us to provide background and act as a resource.

They are streaming the Customary Use one on YouTube so maybe they will do the beach activities too.

SWCC BEACH ACTIVITIES FORUM RESULTS

There was great productive discussion about the challenges on our beaches at the SWCC Beach Activities Public Forum on Monday. Our Board of Directors is preparing recommendations on potential solutions based on the feedback we got from attendees on the following subjects:
  • Beach Vending
  • Code Enforcement
  • Public Beach Accesses
  • Trash Collection
We will send out our recommendations as soon as they are ready and will prepare to present them to the TDC Advisory Council and the Board of County Commissioners as they consider changes to the Beach Activities Ordinance over the next few months. A big THANK YOU to those who attended!
