Regarding the allowance of commercial beach chair vendors to benefit by using public owned beaches: We often hear that "this is their livelihood", etc. and it would be harsh to destroy that for the vendors. Most of these vendors have businesses that they work during the off season, so they do have other ways to earn a living.

We have had a catastrophic, extraordinary event in Michael to our East. Disaster recovery and the opportunities for work will carry on for years. Many of these vendors are able and equipped to find work helping with the Michael recovery effort. Work that is year round, not just March thru October. So now, when stopping commmercial vendors on public beaches will have the least impact to the vendors, is the time to create an ordinance prohibiting ALL COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY on public beaches. It's time. Do what's right for the public. Give us our public beaches back.
