With over 31 years in the fire service (25 here at SWFD) Sgt. Bob Wells officially retired after completing his last 24-hour shift yesterday October 31, 2019.

A celebration of his service was held in his honor yesterday at the SWFD Headquarters where his family, along with several SWFD employees, shift crew members, and former SWFD employees were all on hand to congratulate Sgt. Wells on his accomplishment.

Fire Chief Ryan Crawford thanked Sgt. Wells for his years of service and presented him with a commemorative SWFD shadow box. As a past President and long-standing member of the South Walton Professional Fire Fighters Association (SWPFFA) Local 3516, they presented Sgt. Wells with a commemorative Firefighter Ax.

With his wife and family including his son (who is a SWFD Firefighter) and daughter (who is a WCFR Firefighter) on hand, Sgt. Wells humbly thanked everyone in attendance and thanked SWFD and the South Walton Community for allowing him to serve.

On behalf of all the men and women of the SWFD and on behalf of the thousands of citizens, visitors and guests you have assisted, we "Thank You" for your commitment and dedication to this community.

Sgt. Bob Wells Station 3 B-Shift....thank you for you service.

Best of luck in your retirement!
