I saw an article in the Beach Breeze recently about a guy who got approval on Beachfront Trail to build a house on a 33 foot wide lot. I was wondering how you do that. What are typical setbacks and how narrow would the house have to be?

The floor plan approved in the building permit shows an 11' by 17' house and I believe it is supposed to be 40 feet tall. Not sure what the required setbacks are, but they were met, according to the county records. It is a long, narrow lot.

11 feet wide??? Holy cow! Did you mean 11 x 170 feet? That's just plain silliness. Capitalism run amok?

That would mean setbacks of 10 feet I thought it had to be more.

Typical side setbacks are 7.5 feet, but exceptions are made.
