Rental companies will tell you anything.:cuss: I've been coming to Sowal for close to 20 years myself and have never seen rats.

If you're going to Lake Powell, there's a public boat ramp off 98 east of Camp Helen and Carillon Beach. Go past Winn-Dixie and Publix, take a U-turn, and turn right on Lake Powell Drive. It's usually not crowded and has bathrooms. From there, you can paddle anywhere on the lake.

Nothing seems to last in that location. Maybe it's just not visible enough from 30A, or because the parking lot isn't visible either.

We seem to be heading down the same path as PCB was a couple years ago. I hope no one has to get shot or assaulted on the beach in Sowal before we -- the whole community -- come to our senses.

One more: We've donated furniture to the Rescue Mission in Panama City; however, we're in Inlet Beach and am not sure if they'll pick up in Miramar. Hope this helps. PCRM

It's not exactly a dive, but the Captain's Table in St. Andrews in Panama City is great. They have things like mullet and flounder that you can't always find elsewhere.

The situation was this: we were awakened shortly before 7 am by construction noise. The officer at the Sheriff's dept was extremely nice. He was clear that he was accepting responsibility for enforcement. He said that he had double checked to make sure he was giving me correct information...

The current Walton County website link to the noise ordinance (2003-09) says that audible construction noise is only allowed Monday through Saturday. When we complained about construction on a house near us this morning (12/20/15), we were told by the Sheriff's deputy that the law had recently...

We've been in Inlet Beach for over a week and haven't noticed anything. Apparently the closest bloom is off eastern Bay County.

Hopefully it won't last long. We were over in St. Andrews, near some of the worst recent outbreaks, and didn't notice anything. Of course the stink from the paper mill was another matter...

Friends, last night somebody shot off a volley of large, loud, dangerous fireworks from Inlet Beach. This wasn't some kid with a few firecrackers. These were rockets or aerial shells, launched from within the neighborhood and going off right over our heads. Any debris or a misfire could easily...

Depends where you're staying. Rosemary Beach always puts on a great show, as do lots of other places Or you can find a nice high balcony and watch everything up and down the coast, from PCB to Destin.:clap:

I'm pretty sure it had a different owner, but boy, do I miss it, especially the lunch buffet (good pizza, pasta, and salad). :( My guess is that the Donut Hole took away the customers. Didn't know about the oyster bar.

My wife and I only saw one small jellyfish last week...BUT a stingray motored right between us in the shallow water at Inlet Beach. They're around often. Always watch where you step and shuffle your feet when you're walking in the water!

Guess I won't be driving between Seagrove and Grayton on my next trip. What, the golf carts weren't bad enough for traffic? They say this is #4 on the list of what the public wants. So what's #1? And what public? I'm an owner who spends as much time as possible in Sowal and it ain't me, babe...

Wow! I've seen various kinds of rays there, including a manta ray once, but have never seen a school that big. These smaller ones do seem to be more common in fall and winter and they often come within a few feet of the shoreline.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this idea appalling. There are already too many dogs running loose on the beach and the streets. My wife and I have been approached more than once by aggressive, unfriendly, unleashed ones. And of course, visitors' dogs might not even be vaccinated - so...
