Did You See What is on the SoWal.com Home Page Today?

Doing a lot of thinking today.... We had so much fun renting houses on 30-A for family reunions. My husband and daughter golf and I walk along. She is in college now.....here is a pic of her at Camp Creek. She is 12 in this photo. Great course! We heard was going private.

Did You See What is on the SoWal.com Home Page Today?

Hello! Thinking bout you all with the weather coming in. Hope it doesn't disrupt life too much. Last time we were there was in oct. 2007. I am sure there's been lots of changes. We WILL get there again, esp after seeing the pic of Deer Lake St. Park. BEAUTIFUL!!

NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Smackdown

How 'bout those NDSU Bison? First year eligible in DI tourny, won Summit League title. Not expecting a miracle, but Ben Woodside is something else and it's all good for ND!!!

    Hurricane Gustav

Hi, DD! Thanks for asking. Today will be about 80 and breezy with chances of thunderstorms. Cold weather is hopefully a LONG way off, at least a few months. Sounds like the SE is going to get soaked, and then there's Hannah....... How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

"Hi krafty, what's up? It looks like you haven't posted on SoWal.com in quite awhile. Please take a minute and ask a question, give your two cents, or just say hello in one of the forums. Thanks for joining in!" This message popped up so I thought I'd better do what I'm told! I'm a weather...

photos - Seagrove On The Beach - 1/27/08

Crisp is a good word for tonight. Beautiful? Quite often.... I've been to almost every state, and stayed in some gorgeous settings, but I always long to return to my favorite place, Seagrove beach. Kurt's last photo REALLY got to me. It reminded me so much of the first gulf front house we...

photos - Seagrove On The Beach - 1/27/08

Sounds like my morning walks with a slight variation. The slightly crusty snow crunches beneath my feet like powder sand. :D Ah, yes, the beach is stunning, but y'all miss out on the experience of being outside in the hot tub on a starry night when it's so cold you need to drop your coat at...

New big blue signs in SoWal

Re: New signs on 30A designating communities [title changed] I know my opinion probably won't matter much since I am only a tourist, but I loved the old signs. I agree with those who said they fit with the character of the area, quaint and charming. The new signs? Quaint? No. Charming? No...

    Led away in Handcuffs

I agree!! Speaking as a tourist who will NEVER own ocean/gulf front property, I would much rather spend my hard earned dollars visiting a state that goes to great lengths to let me know I am welcome on any beach in the state (including beaches that front 5 star resorts and homes worth...

    Led away in Handcuffs

I agree. Protecting shoreline access is no small matter in the Islands. It's enshrined in Hawai'i statute but originated in kingdom law. I also really like the pride that Hawaiians seem to have in insuring "public ownership" of the shoreline, as they put it.

    Led away in Handcuffs

I have been finding this thread very interesting. My family has been to Hawaii two times and enjoyed having access to all beaches. We've also been to SoWAl several times and I must admit we might have unknowingly violated access laws. Though all Hawaii beaches are public, there often seems...

Is Camp Creek Golf Course Now Totally Private?

My husband has golfed there many times but as of Sept. 1, 2005, only guests or owners of Watersound and Watercolor can play the course. As far as he knows, you have to rent from St. Joe directly, not thru VRBO or other realty companies. He's bummed because Camp Creek is by far his favorite...
