When I was a kid (60's) the dunes were so large that it was impossible to mistake if it was a dune or not....Now its hard to even see a dune in a photo.

On our last visit we ate breakfast at the Donut Hole....it was wonderful, and way more food than we could eat. Worth the visit.

I will be down next week and plan to fish, and crab....my problem is that I don't fish! So therefore I have no idea about the types of fish that are there...probably a silly question to all you guys, but a real dilemna for me :idontno: I will be fishing from one of the piers on the lake at...

I love to crab!! I will be there the 14th and I have the same problem. As a child I always crabbed off a pier behind a house on Garfield Ave. (the Pink house---Oldtimers stomping grounds) and loved every minute of it.

I visited next door to "Leo's Lair" a couple of weeks ago, with a very close friend of the Mayo family. I was told that the asking price is still $2.5. Lovely place.

We will be down in May also, but not until the 15th, Let's plan a bonfire, anyone game? :)

here i am Hey there...I have been here, longing to be there!! I can't wait til our visit Mothers day weekend. I can't think of a better way to spend mothers day, since my kids are all grown up......just me and my sis, acting ike we are 12 again, not even sophisticated 13 yr olds.

The Store I am one of those fortunate souls that spent a great deal of my youth at "The Store". True "The Store" was the beach, but I spent a lot of time on Pinkstons Pier. Oldtimer, Doug, & to all the Pinkstons......Your pier was my slice of heaven, I spent many hours there crabbing...

c'mon join It doesn't hurt at all, and you learn a lot about how wonderful Grayton and the surrounding areas are....not to mention all the lovely people you meet.

Can someone please tell me where a good place for breakfast is in Grayton? I have always traveled with my family, so, I always have cooked. Last visit was just my sis and I, as well my next visit also, and we refused to cook.

eden Great pictures....Did you ever see the movie that was filmed there at Eden? The Frogs? I was about 8 or 9 when it came out and we went to the theatre to see it, probably only because it was filmed there.

PICS This is without a doubt the most beautiful place on the face of the earth. Can't wait for my next visit - :cry: not until Mothers Day weekend though. :cry: (New tradition since kids are grown, my sis-in-law and I love mothers day more and more every year.) :D

Butlers Store holds my most cherished memories. Not only the store, but the section that held the old wooden booths, the old pinball machines, the juke box, everyones names carved and written everywhere. Then later the pool tables, (which I actually thought were in the way of the dancing....)...

I am from Gadsden, AL. I grew up traveling to Grayton several months a year. My dad built a house on Garfield for a friend of his, so we still get to enjoy it, but not often enough. I live for the day that I can be there year round.
