    Fried Oysters

So how is the service there at ACME. I went to the one there in a village, might be this one, and the servers were more interested in each other than the customers. Made for a very long meal. :(

    Scenic Gulf Drive

Is this the area across and down from the Seascape Resort? I remember a Whales Tail being there in '86 or so. Just a small bar and grill. I think it got taken out by one of the hurricanes. Evidently they have rebuilt. Hence the parking lot. I have fond memories of that area. 20 years or so ago...

If you ever have the opportunity to go to a ''Sullivans'' I highly recommend this restaurant. I personally have never been to Ruth Chris' but several people who have eaten at both these places say Sullivans is nicer and tastier. http://www.sullivansteakhouse.com/

    Drowning in Destin?

I hear ya barkin'! I think most people look out at the ocean and are mesmerized by how peaceful it looks, most of the time. Some are led into a false sense of security and fail to understand what exactly is happening under those frothy white capped waves. I have gone too far out and had...

If you could, where would you eat every day in SoWal???

I likes the way you thinks! A woman after my own heart!!!!! Have you tried ''Hunts'' yet. I've heard from a very reliable source they are the best in the general area....in PCBeach I go to ''Dustys''.....perfect setting, well almost.....succulent oysters and super cold Budweisers!

331 Cafe trades sushi for oyster bar

Not being overly family-ilier with exactly where the 331 Cafe is located, could you steer this Kentucky boy to abouts where it is and what it is by? Be down in July, save some of those succulent medium sized bi-valves for us!

    Uber Golf Instructor!!

What is the course like? Prices to play? Most USAF bases have golf courses and usually they are in incredible shape. I can only imagine Eglin would be nice also. What is the new course in Panama City? I remember it either being a Jack Nicklaus or an Arnold Palmer course. Thanks, KOE

    Golf School?

Who needs school to hit a small white dimpled pebble with an assundry of different weighted pole like objects, anyways? On a more serious note.....We'll be down from Louisville in a couple of weeks and we are staying at the Villas of Sunset Beach. Is there an actual Sunset Beach or is that just...

    Food poisoning

I wouldn't wish food poisoning on my worst enemy.....Without giving toooo much info (TMI) I never experienced the evacuation of fluids from my body in such a rapid and violent way as i did after eating the hot dog from the bowling alley as I did at 2:00 a.m. one night after several...

    Keep out of the water

For a Kentuckian who goes to Florida once a year for vacation and selects SoWal Beach as his destination and lives there for one whole week out of the 365 days in a year, taking 12 people and spending a couple of thousand bucks (if not more) and stimulating the local economy and says WaterColors...

    Keep out of the water

We were in Seagrove so we just headed out 30-A and ran into it by accident. Please correct me if I'm wrong but if you go through WaterColors then Seagrove and follow 30-A in that direction towards the Camp Creek area you will see it off to the left side. You can't miss it if you keep your eyes...

    Golf Course Review

Played Club Meadows (not a bad course, but it was swampy due to all the recent rains week before last) all the way in Panama City which is way too far, but they are revamping the old Lagoon Legends course at the Marriott there. If you could, where would you eat every day in SoWal???

I'm hearin' ya SJ! I guess the reason I love my oysters so much is my Uncle Mac used to bring back to Louisille burlap bags full of oysters from Appalachacola in coolers full of ice and all the men would go downstairs and take turns shuckin'. All us kids would be runnin' around like banshees'...

I went to Hooters today. In Louisville, KY. They had some nice Oysters. A little more expensive than Dustys' in Panama City. But still really good. The Old Florida Fish House proved to be pretty darn good when we were in Seagrove last week. Ate there twice. A pleasant experience both times...

The Old Florida Fish House off of 30-A has a nice bar and live music. We liked it (the food) so much we went back twice. We did eat in the restaurant area with the kiddie-poos, but wish we were with out them so we could go and enjoy the younger crowd in the bar area. Great food. Fine service...

Excellent pictures! Do not be afraid of what you will find when you finally get here. It is still a great place to come and unwind. The beaches are still great, not a whole lot of difference excepting that the ''dunes'' are gone and that the access areas may have been changed and they are...

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm not worried about a little rain here and there while we are there, it's just that we'll have 5 kids to entertain more than usual. I personally like overcast. Especially golfing. Now for the beach, sunny is fine. But we have no control over what mother nature...

So.. how are things looking one week after Dennis?

Howdy back to you neighbor! I'm originally from the Hikes Point area but enjoy living in J-town. Now if we can just get Mayor Clay to move into the 20th Century and approve Sunday liquor sales.....hahahaha. I've been traveling down Taylorsville Rd. all my life as I had an Aunt and Uncle who...

The anticipation of heading down to Seagrove next Friday is killing me! Glad to hear all is returning to normal since all the storms. What about the local Golf Courses? Favorite restaurants

I've been to the Acme place. Service was extremely slow. Oysters weren't bad, but it took an act of Congress to get them. Plus I wasn't to thrilled with the lacksadaisical attitude of the servers themselves. They were more interested in each other than the customer it seemed. At least the day we...
