    low speed vehicles rules?

I don't understand. Would it bother you less if those parking spaces were occupied by gasoline-powered cars?

    Needed: soffit/siding repair

I'm not sure what type of business to contact for this job. When it rains with strong winds, we get water intrusion where the soffit (under the roof overhang) meets the stucco exterior wall. Need someone with a long extension ladder to seal that joint. Any suggestions?

    Seaside golf cart parking?

I think it's because the restaurant and shop owners who want your business are not the same people as the homeowners who are afraid you'll let your pre-teen kids drive the cart and run over their kids.

Hampton Inn Seagrove Beach on Chateau Hotel Property

When was the last time you went on a beach vacation and stayed where you HAD TO WALK over half a mile to the beach?

Hampton Inn Seagrove Beach on Chateau Hotel Property

I'm not. For a hotel that markets to beachgoers, one block or they must provide some reasonable means for guests to get to the beach, such as a shuttle or parking close to the beach. Or they can try to convince us they will not market to beachgoers. Local shops and restaurants are required to...

Hampton Inn Seagrove Beach on Chateau Hotel Property

It would be fine if they wanted to build a Hampton Inn next door to me, but I have a big problem with the proposed location over a half mile from the beach. Nobody comes here for a "quick business trip." They will come for a quick beach trip, and 90 SUVs will try to park in my driveway. I live...

Hampton Inn Seagrove Beach on Chateau Hotel Property

I can just imagine their website saying the hotel is "just steps from the beach" when they are really over half a mile away. The closest public access, at the bend of Eastern Lake Road is unusable because the outfall was allowed to migrate west, cutting it off. You'd have to wade through the...

    Alligators in coastal dune lakes?

    What do they sound like?

Glad you like it. Not my cup of tea.

    723 Whiskey Bravo

Bring back the old menu! Food was great & prices were reasonable. Loved the spinach salad with polenta. Now the only thing fit to eat is the pina colada. If I wanted to pay a fortune for bad food, I could go to Cafe 30-A. :P

    Dear 30A Cycling Enthusiasts...........

I just think it's a stretch to call 30-A a "HIGHway." It's a narrow two-lane full of crosswalks, speed bumps, and blind driveways where you can't pass. More apt would be "byway" or "ONLYway."

    Chimney flue repair company?

Know anyone who could repair a metal chimney flue on top of my house that has deteriorated in the weather?

Where is the non-highway alternative to 30A?

What would you spend BP money on?

I'd spend it on an airport for South Walton. It would benefit residents and tourism. I'd put it east of Point Washington, between Hwy 98 and the intracoastal waterway.

    Golf Carts on Scenic 30A

What?! Preposterous! Are you serious? Golf carts are not legal on public streets or the bike path--they are explicitly UNfree.

    Campaign Finance Reform

Who would that be? Wait! Don't tell me! I just love it when people post cryptic accusations of corruption among elected officials and I get to go on a scavenger hunt to find out what they're talking about!

    Tourists not welcome?

Why do you care whether visitors ignore beach flags? Visitors can't ignore bike path rules if they never pass one of the scarce signs listing those rules. Likewise, if they use a private beach access, they won't see the beach rules signs. I agree that unleased dogs can be a nuisance, large...

    low speed vehicles rules?

What do you mean? What "has historically made 30A what it is"? How do these vehicles take it away? Are you objecting to the golf carts or street-legal electric cars?

    Tourists not welcome?

What is the reason for the permit requirement? A. Dogs running amok (off leash), B. Droppings, and/or C. Revenue enhancement?

    Chocolate milk ocean???

I'm NOT worried about the water quality or safety for swimming. I like the dune lakes! But the appearance of the Gulf water adjacent to Eastern Lake matters to me, and if anyone can answer my specific questions, I'd appreciate it.

    Chocolate milk ocean???

    I'm worried about it.

    Chocolate milk ocean???

Yes, but anyone who regularly uses the beach near a dune lake inlet would know about how much of the year the Gulf water is tannin-stained right there. I'm hoping someone who knows will say either (1) the breakout shuts off like a faucet and the Gulf in front of it clears up within a day until...

    Chocolate milk ocean???

Thank you. When the rest of the Gulf along 30-A clears up, does the "beer colored" water linger in the Gulf within, say, 100 yards of where the breakout had been?
  27. D

    Chocolate milk ocean???

Thanks! Can you give me an idea of how many times a year the Eastern Lake overflows into the Gulf and how long the outfalls last? And after it stops streaming into the Gulf, does it trickle through the sand for a while carrying that lovely coffee color into the Gulf? If so, how long? What...

    Chocolate milk ocean???

How much of the year is the gulf water discolored in the immediate vicinity of Eastern Lake due to lake outflow? Always? Or only after an unusual rain? Or during a certain season? How long does it last?
