What is actually needed is an additional much larger boating facility on the bay, but with land costs what it is that would be a long shot. If the county already owns sufficient land on the bay then that would be a different story.

An exclusive commercial area would be nice, but the charter guys pay a special $200 or $250 annual fee to use county boat ramps. Until a couple of years ago there was no fee.

We have several small decent restaurants up here but folks keep hoping for something like a larger steak/seafood restaurant. We don't have the population, but one on 331 near I-10 might work since development will be in full swing before long and the tourist traffic increases to flood you folks...

Nick's has been drawing in people from all around including the beach for many years. Folks like the location, the ambiance, and the food is good. Also, he holds a number of events outside that draw in hundreds of fun seekers. His market is different than the Outpost and Black Creek Lodge.

Yep, being off the beaten path and not out there 'in your face' will take special advertising and promotion. The established river and bay fishing crowd are pretty well up on things, but there is always a very large market out there that is not aware.

Had lunch there on opening day. It was OK, but they have a ways to go on quallity, quantity, and price for what you get. It will take a while to make adjustents. Hope it works out for them. Will be a nice addition to the marina. Will eat there again soon.

Confirmed today they will be open Thursday thru Saturday, 11AM to 6PM. This will be their weekly schedule.
