What would the writer or anyone for that matter be saying if this had been a drunken college student on spring break recklessly kayaking instead of a pseudo celebrity?
You have this backwards. I have never claimed or insinuated I am superior to anyone. It is the bigots, racists, etc who feel superior by attempting to marginalize those they dislike simply because their skin is a different color, their faith is different, they look and speak differently, or who...
I cannot unite behind glorifying the slave trade.
It’s like the neofascists or Charles Manson’s family celebrating and building monuments to mass murder because it’s part of their heritage.
Instead of listening to what they say watch what they do.
A person’s actions will tell you more about them than anything they will ever reveal through conversation.
I’m going to bow out now and just want you to know I respect you and enjoy your posts. We disagree some but agree more often.
You don’t know anyone who would condone anything immoral?
You need to get out more because there are millions of people who are willing to elect a convicted fraudster/rapist to the highest office.
I’m not trashing southern heritage, I’m stating a fact.
It is the go to excuse they use to defend any public display of confederate symbols.
If getting angry makes you feel better go for it.
I’m also southern born and these people piss me off with their continued defense of the confederacy as...
Location, location, location has been replaced with Insurance, insurance, insurance in Florida.
Here are a couple of links to articles about how this is affecting various areas in our state from prices to inventory to days on market...
In one of the post on Waltoncounty.org John Walton describes John Walton as a “Renowned local author.”
I personally know nothing about his renowned works.
“Some insurance giants are abandoning entire states, leaving residents fewer and costlier choices to protect against costly catastrophes.”
Doesn’t really answer my question, but great example of why we need a national federal insurance program other than FEMA flood.
Remove the need to profit or...
I didn’t “jump on the poster” and part of the solution is to stop voting for those who cause many of the problems complained about and to this I am part of the solution.
An open letter is used to start a conversation and that is what has occurred.
While I appreciate his efforts do you actually believe the Governor will read much less visit and take action because of an open letter, even if filled with fawning praise of his leadership skills, when this has already been dragged through the courts?
No mention of insurance rates tripling under his “leadership?”
For many this is a more pressing issue than beaches as the skyrocketing rates are forcing lower income Floridians to abandon coverage all together or relocate out of state.
This is a bit comical given Walmart’s success was built on their strategy of building their stores in SMALL TOWNS something no other major retailer was doing.
