3 hours of Beatles on 30A Radio tomorrow 3-6

This is great. I hope you get some of the more obscure songs in there... I highly recommend the book I just read by the Beatles' engineer, Geoff Emerick's Here, There & Everywhere. Fascinating and very dramatic.

    This week's playlist - April 2008

I really like the Hancock album, too. I wasn't a huge fan of his solo work aside from "Rockit" and his seminal score for the 1974 film "Death Wish," but this is a true jazz record, like the guy said in The Beachcomber this week, "not some crossover jive."
  20. Pumpkin-22

    This week's playlist - April 2008

Cyrus Chestnut, Cyrus Plays Elvis (Koch, 2007). Excellent jazz pianist, imaginative interpretations of Presley hits. Alison Krauss, A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection (Rounder, 2007). Worth it for the Dumbo song alone. Going to see her and Robert Plant end of this month, can't wait! The...

    Movies Are Your Best Entertainment

The title of the thread was just a nod to Jerry Lewis' "The Errand Boy," one of his (many) great movies. I actually prefer live theater, and probably attend more than I do the local cinema.

    What Are You Listening to?

the new Truckers is first-rate. I grew up in the North Alabama town where Hood and Cooley formed their first band, Adam's House Cat. I was extremely happy over their success, which surprised me since I'm usually such an envious type.

    What Are You Listening to?

I am not sure if this is the same recording as what's on the deluxe ed. I found it on emusic. 30 tracks for $9.99, so the Coltrane cost me a grand total of 2 tracks (66 cents) as opposed to the album only ****e they pull on iTunes. You should consider ditching those people who leave the room...

    Meadows Suggests Recycling Survey

I think she does a good job of representing her constituents. Every BCC meeting I've attended, Ms. Meadows always has a lot of items on her plate. Just getting people talking about recycling is a good start.
