The Sonder Project is a global nonprofit organization focused on high-impact, sustainable solutions aimed at ending extreme poverty and hunger worldwide. Education lays the foundation for a successful future, yet there are nearly 900 million people worldwide who cannot read or write. The Sonder Project aims to change this number and by giving impoverished areas the tools that they need to create new opportunities, thus breaking the cycle of poverty. In 2015, the organization built two primary schools in Burkina Faso, Africa and they hope to build even more schools in remote villages in 2016.

I am going to run this 30A Half Marathon. I think it is great to have 2 of these events in the area. But I sure wish this race would donate to a local cause not a foreign one. There are plenty of local charities like Caring and Sharing that could use a big shot in the arm that the proceeds from this race would raise. Alaqua would be another great charity. Think About It........
