Coming in late next week (Thurs) and wondering what might be going on around the area. Bringing friends with us from Wyoming who have never been to the area - or Florida for that matter. Want to help out with Red Cross or any other way we can while there - thanks to those posting info in other threads. Will also be in need of good food, live music & cold beverages... Anyone know where Dread Clampett will be next Thurs-Sun? Anybody/anyplace else we should check out while there? Also thinking about a 1/2 day fishing trip if there's time? Any recommendations on who to contact for a guide?
There's the West Indies Market at Rosemary Beach, Sat & Sun from 11-5. Dread Clampett was at the Seabar this past Sunday, don't know who they have playing there this coming weekend. Endless Summer Series in Seaside (Friday night movie and Saturday night concert) go to www.seasidefl.com for info. Have a GREAT weekend!
Dread Clampitt ususally plays the Sea Bar on Sunday afternoons, but on Sunday Aug 28th, Dread Clampitt was playing the F.U.N.K. FESTIVAL in Bean Blossom, Indiana. Just don't want to confuse you if you thought you saw another band thinking it was Dread C. Pick up the lastest edition of the Walton Sun (free local rag) to see what is going on. New editions hit the stands every Sat am.
Expect traffic delays and lane closures on 30-A near Rosemary Beach on Sunday, Sept. 11 because of the Trek for the Coast Half Marathon and 5K. I was thinking about entering the half, but I've just been way too much of a couch potato since Gulf Coast tri.
Trek for the Coast is the kick-off for Autumn Tides, a coastal celebration spotlighting all 26 miles of Walton County?s world famous, sugar-white beaches. On Saturday, the Trek will begin with kayaking clinics and leisure paddles on the emerald waters along the breathtaking natural setting of Grayton Beach State Park. In the evening a pasta dinner will be held for the runners participating in either the ? Marathon, 5K Race or Family Fun Run/Stroll. The running events will take place on Sunday along scenic highway 30-A with the beautiful backdrop of certified clean beaches and powdery-white dunes. The runs will start and finish at Rosemary Beach. http://www.cleanbeaches.org/events/trek/2005/
