Rick McCurley is a virtual blur making sure no one in sight lacks fresh-shucked raw oysters, boiled shrimp, or oysters off his grill. Although he’s only been in business here in SoWal for about three years now, he’s made a huge impression on folks with his “oyster bar on wheels.” When he says he’ll “bring the Oyster Bar to you,” he’s not just whistling Dixie!

[Lake View Too]

We had him set up on our porch this last Memorial Day weekend, when our family gang came over from Ft. Worth. There was a tropical depresssion threatening, but he came and set up, complete with bar, grill, boiling pot, etc. He brought his own music system with just the right tunes, and he brought his wise-ass sense of humor. He brought probably ten coolers of oysters and kept cooking them all night long. It was a great fun time.
