Top 10 Insider Tips for 30A Songwriters Festival!

Make the most of this year's festival with these insider recommendations.

The 30A Songwriters Festival takes place next week January 16 - 18, 2015, and we are going to give you some great recommendations for getting the most out of your festival experience.

1. Clothing: Wear layers to transition from indoor to outdoor venues with ease. Think scarves, fleece pullovers and comfortable shoes. If you find yourself in a pinch, we will have merch readily available at the Box Office and Gulf Place.

2. Schedule: Once the schedule is released (coming soon!), make plans to see some of the bigger acts at larger venues to ensure you get a spot. Or select one of your favorite venues and make that your "base" for the festival weekend - You will be surprised by who you might see! Listen to 30A Songwriters Festival Radio to sample some of the artists beforehand and select shows you like based on the music you hear.

3. Getting Around: Download the official 30A Songwriters Festival App here and through geo-tracking you can keep track of where the shuttle is at all times. Plan on parking being tight in some places so some walking may be required.

4. Food and bevvys: Be sure to leave your coolers at home. Our gracious venues will have an array of fabulous food and beverage for purchase! And with Grayton Beer as the exclusive beer of the festival you'll have ample opportunity to enjoy a cold one at most all festival venues! Please note that Rosemary Town Hall is the only venue that will not be serving food so grab something yummy and filling from one of the Rosemary Beach restaurants before you see your show in the Rosemary Beach Town Hall.

5. Gulf Place: Don't forget to bring only low-back chairs! We want to make sure you can see over your neighbor's head for a great visual of the artist's performance.

6. Lodging: If you are traveling from out -of-town for the festival, our Official Lodging Partners have some fantastic deals!

7. Pets: As much as we love your furry, four-legged friends, they'll be much happier at home.

8. Listening Rooms vs. Talking Rooms: A good rule of thumb is to remain respectfully quiet while artists are playing.

9. Armbands: Make sure you are comfortable in your armband, so don't secure it too tightly because it
must remain on all weekend.

10. Updates and Changes: Follow us on Facebook throughout the weekend for schedule changes, updates and all things festival-related!

Artist Spotlight: Kim Richey, a well known Nashville singer-songwriter will be playing throughout the festival weekend at various venues along 30A. Check out her music here!

Lodging Partner of the Day: St. Joe Club and Resorts is one of our premier lodging partners! With Watercolor serving as the official 30A Songwriters Festival headquarters, Watercolor Inn will be one of the most convenient locations to stay during the festival. Plus you'll get two complimentary festival passes when you stay with them! Check out their offer here!

Tickets for the Festival are on sale and going quickly! Most of our artists have been announced, and you can check them out at 30ASongwritersFestival.com.

Gulf Place Amphitheater

Graham Nash will perform at Gulf Place Sunday Jan 18

Graham Nash
has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice (with The Hollies in 2010 and with Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1997) as well as the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009. Simply put, he is one of music’s most legendary singer songwriters and vocal harmony singers (and a renowned photographer and leading activist in our society).

Leon Russell will perform at Gulf Place Saturday Jan. 17
Leon Russell
, a fellow inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, could be famous for his session work in the 60’s (the Byrds, the Beach Boys, Phil Spector’s hits are just a few) or his band leadership and production work with Bob Dylan, Delaney & Bonnie, Joe Cocker and George Harrison, or for writing “A Song For You” covered by dozens of hit makers. Alas he is famous for all of these as well as the fact that no one has ever captivated arena rock audiences more than Leon Russell sitting at or standing on a grand piano.

230 performances by 150 artists on 25 stages!

Get the schedule by artist or venue now at 30ASongwritersFestival.com.
