Good Evenings @ Good News presents a night of traditional Christmas songs, popular vocal and instrumental music with prominent Russian born American soprano Svetlana Strezeva of the Moldova National Opera Company. Strezeva has been praised as "The Great Russian Nightingale" by Russia's St. Petersburg press.

GOOD EVENINGS PRESENTS OPERA SOPRANO SVETLANA STREZEVA IN CHRISTMAS RECITAL

Internationally acclaimed Russian born American soprano Svetlana Strezeva, former Prima Donna of the Moldova National Opera Company, breaks from her busy schedule on December 16 for a Christmas recital at Good News United Methodist Church in Santa Rosa Beach. The Sunday evening recital begins at 7 p.m.
Strezeva is a Laureate of the P. Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow and M. Glinka International Vocal Competition in Minsk. Svetlana did her professional studies at La Scala in Milan, Italy, under the guidance of Opera Star G. Simionato and Drs. Mantovani, Rosa, Borroni and Silvestri, developing the voice, studying the languages, perfecting the craft alongside such renown singers as I. Arkhipova, G. Dimitrova, M. Bieshu, and P. Botezat.

Mme. Strezeva was Prima Donna of the Moldova National Opera Company. She made her debut at the Bolshoi Theater as Shemakha in "Le Coq D'Or" by Rimsky-Korsakoff under the direction of the Great Russian conductor Eugene Svetlanov. Svetlana debuted in 1985 at the Kirov Opera in St. Petersburg, Russia. She also performed in operas and concerts in Minsk, Odessa, Kiev, Tallinn, Ekatirenburg, Helsinki, Bucharest, Sofia, Rome, Jordan, Biejing, Shenyan, Brussels, Amsterdam, Ragusa, Milan, Miami, St. Louis, New York, Baltimore, Boston and in many other cities throught the world, and has made numerous recordings.



Now residing in the United States, Svetlana's career is flourishing in recitals, as well as soloist with symphony orchestra. Her discography includes recordings of arias by Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Rimsky-Korsakov and Rossini as well as Art Songs by Alyabyev, Schubert, Saint-Saens, Rachmaninoff, Strauss, Verdi, Dogha, Lisoy and Koka. The list seems endless.

Svetlana comes to Santa Rosa Beach to share her rich, refined voice in an evening of traditional Christmas songs, and popular vocal and instrumental music.
