Still feels good when we finally get to drive on 30A. We stay at Greenville AL on Friday nights then drive down without traffic on Saturday morning.
More building, of course.
New registers at Modica.
Bud & Alleys will be torn down after Labor Day. Dave buying the land. Will take at least a year to build?
Seaside Sushi truck is gone. In its place will be a donut/dessert place.
Didn't know Charlie's donuts was Modica Charlie.
Love the new long pedestrian trail on the other side of the road at Western Lake. Haven't ridden it yet.
Maybe too much rain this week, so plan B is to eat breakfast or lunch out, then window shop.
Took our bikes to Topsail. Free admission at that park and Grayton through Labor Day.
Have gotten food at Modica. Ate arrival lunch at Bud & Alleys. Oysters, dinner, happy hour frozen margaritas at Great Southern. Modica coffee is so good. Heartache at Cowgirl Kitchen.
There are more people this week that there were 3 years ago and before - when my husband was teaching. We'll schedule two weeks earlier next year.
Why do people have to play football and play music at the beach? Am I just being a grumpy old woman?
Highland House still looked closed.
Got growlers filled at Idyllhounds Brewery.
It's raining this morning. Getting ready to have a Monte Cristo at 45 Central. Yum.

Brunch at 45 Central was yummy. We were the only table - inside. Another table outside. 3 people came in for beer. Monte Cristo and the waffles were all very good. Even the dressing on the salad side was nice and light, a creamy lemon. Very nice service from everyone. Recommend. Maybe it is quiet because it is adults only? So many families visit here. Paella on Wed. or Fri. is on the list. Still light rain.
Also, the new steps at the Seaside pavilions are nice. Sections of 3 steps then landings. Much easier than the long, long, stretch of steps. Bench at the bottom for stowing sandals underneath. (We keep ours in case the sand is hot.) The bench is gone in the Coleman pavilion but the steps are very nice. They narrow in width as you go down.
