BP Settlement Funds
"On the agenda March 25th BCC in DFS starting at. 9:00 AM: There will be discussion about how the county will spend the funds resulting from the recent BP settlement. There has been a suggestion the funds be spent on vehicles, trucks, and other fleets for sheriff, fire, and public works. If you have thoughts on how the approximately 3 million dollars should be spent, please attend the meeting.
The County Commission received a check Friday, March 7th for $3,356,219.14 and the Tourist Development Council received $4,280,983.66 as a result of the settlement with BP."

PLEASE send the commissioners a letter AND/OR attend this meeting voicing your thoughts as to how these $$$$ should (or should NOT) be spent.
If we don't speak out we'll have no one to blame but ourselves if we don't like how the money gets used.
