Looking for suggestions on which dune lakes offer the best experiences for:

Fishing
Kayaking
Sightseeing/wildlife

I know they're all unique but looking for the best suggestions from members that know!

Thanks

Western Lake has a bit of everything - great boating of course, with private nooks, access to the gulf, narrow passages, marshes ....

Also it has some of the best fishing, easy public access, State Park access (with boat rental), WaterColor (with boat and SUP rental), a great trail through the dunes.

Okay, so SUP is a term used in the US. There are a lot of SUP advocates in Australia. At the surf shop in Torquay I mentioned something about seeing all of the YOLO boarders in the Tasmanian Sea. They looked puzzled. One said, "Okay, mate. We call those SUPs." It's amazing seeing the SUPs on those big waves. When we were in Australia this time, the waves were smooth (not washing machine). So even though the waves were big, they were easier to maneuver.

BTW hubby has worked in AU near the Great Ocean Road since January 2011. Some of his mates surf every morning before work. They have wetsuits for every different range of water temps. Those who don't surf go to the Great Ocean Road and watch the surfers and exercise. As they say, it's sh** on. That means great!
