Now is the perfect time to head over to the Destin Harbor to experience the newest waterfront restaurant located at the Destin Fishing Fleet Marina...

Brotula's Seafood House & Steamer is the new restaurant situated on the Destin Harbor in the old Fisherman's Wharf location. The building is completely renovated and rather beautiful but much of its old seafood house charm remains. The views over the Destin Fishing Fleet Marina and Harbor are very much part of the great atmosphere you'll find at Brotula's whether you're seated inside or out on the deck.

We were treated to a special sit down lunch with members of local media this week, thanks to Jessica Proffitt of Proffitt PR. Chef Tyler McMahan sent out endless platters of fresh seafood ranging from little neck clams to Florida lobster, blue crab, grouper and other local fish, royal red steamed shrimp with corn and potatoes, bacon wrapped shrimp, baked oysters, mussels, and even dungeness crab flown in from San Fran. Most of the seafood is local and just caught, and all of it is prepared perfectly.

Some of non seafood dishes included a delicious burger, ribs with a sweet raspberry sauce, and a delicious fried chicken sandwich with an incredible sauce. The salads were top notch. We really enjoyed the whole fried okra and the crab stuffed portabella. The Captain's burger is topped with fried jalapenos (hello! I want that), and fried pickles are on the app menu.

Most of the dishes were served with some of the best french fries you'll find on the coast. And the hushpuppies were excellent.

Looking forward to returning for lunch and dinner to try more! The menu is extensive and the chef offers daily lunch specials. Additional info about Brotula's:

Fish Trax - Brotula's participates in the Fish Trax Marketplace, where a QR code is served with all seafood orders. This tag alerts diners to where, when and by whom their fish was caught.
