Join us as we Stroll through Alys Beach on a Sculpture Tour.

This is a virtual Art on Demand event brought to you by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County in partnership with Alys Beach and 30A.

In this episode, Alys Protzman, the granddaughter and namesake of Alys Varian Robinson Stephens, for whom Alys Beach was named, leads viewers on a stroll sharing details and fun tidbits about the sculptures that have been carefully curated to complement the beautiful architecture and landscapes now iconic to the community. You need only sit back, relax and enjoy - we do all the walking! Alys Protzman’s family began coming to this area in the 1950’s and she has vacationed on 30A since she was born. Her summers here with her siblings and 13 cousins have played an integral part in her life. After college in Virginia and design school in New York City, she moved to Florida and worked for Alys Beach. She was married to her husband at Eden Gardens, further reinforcing her family’s lifelong connection to the area. Alys currently lives outside of Chapel Hill, North Carolina with her husband, three children and a menagerie of animals. She runs a residential interior design business, Alys Design. Her favorite time of year is when she’s able to escape down to 30A to experience these beaches with the next generation of her family.
