2015 "Top of the Class" Juried Art Show

“Top of the Class” is a juried art exhibition presented by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County in partnership with Northwest Florida State College. This exhibition is part of the continuing effort of the A+Art Committee, whose mission is to showcase the work of CAA member artists and to enhance the public spaces of the South Walton Center of Northwest Florida State College. The exhibition will be displayed at the South Walton Center of NWFSC, at 109 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, FL, from April 3 until May 29, 2015.

AWARDS
Best in Show - $500 plus a solo exhibit in 2016 as well as other monetary and recognition awards

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all members of the Cultural Arts Alliance. If you are not yet a member, you may join online at http://www.culturalartsalliance.com/members, or you may print the membership form and mail it.

ENTRIES
We are asking for recent art or fine art photography made within the past two years, not previously shown by A+Art. Each artist may submit one or two entries. All entries must be one-of-a-kind, produced solely by the artist. Source material and inspiration must be original. No print reproductions will be accepted. Artwork must be appropriate for exhibition to the general public, which the venue refers to as “family-friendly”. Due to space constraints, this show is limited to artwork that can be hung on a wall. Artwork must be dry and ready to hang, with wire attached for hanging. The submitted digital images must be accurate images of the art. Accepted works must match their submitted images. Artwork not meeting the above criteria will not be accepted or judged. See size requirement below.

FRAMING AND SIZE REQUIREMENTS
Maximum size of the framed work: Height plus width (dimensions of two sides of the work) must not exceed 72 inches. Unframed gallery-wrapped canvas is acceptable only if it is at least 1½ inches deep, if the sides are completely painted, and no staples are visible.

DIGITAL FILE INSTRUCTIONS
Files should be submitted in JPEG format, not more than 1 MB in size, with recommended size not less than 900 pixels nor more than 1800 pixels. Do not send thumbnails.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Please email photos of up to 2 of your recent artworks in jpg format toaplusartcaa@gmail.com.

In your email subject line, please write TOP OF THE CLASS followed by your last name, first name and then the title of your artwork. You will need to send a separate email for each submission. In the text of the email, please give us the following information:
1. Your name
2. Your email address
3. Your phone number, the best one to use if we need to reach you
4. Your artwork title
5. Your artwork dimensions, including frame if you will be framing it (HxW)
6. Approximately date of completion
7. Price, if you want to sell your art
8. Your art website

APPLICATION DEADLINE
All applications must be submitted by March 6, 2015 at midnight.

FEES
A non-refundable fee of $35 allows artists to submit a maximum of two entries. Make check for $35 to Cultural Arts Alliance and write your last name and Top of Class in the memo part of the check. Mail to CAA, 105 Hogtown Bayou Ln, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

JURYING PROCEDURE
The exhibition is selected by the juror from digital images on March 13, 2015. The juror will determine awards from the actual accepted artwork.

ACCEPTED WORK
Artists whose work is accepted will receive further instructions on delivery. The total number of entries accepted is based on the juror’s decisions relative to display space available, regardless of the number of entries received. Accepted work must be hand-delivered onMarch 27th, dry and ready to exhibit,and with the proper hanging mechanism (using D-rings and wire, with no sawtooth hangers). Please test the hanging wire, to ensure that art hangs flat to the wall and wire is not exposed to the viewer. Artwork will need to be picked up following the exhibition on Monday, June 1st.

SALES
The A+Art Committee requests that 20% of the proceeds of any sale resulting from this exhibition be donated to the Cultural Arts Alliance, 105Hogtown Bayou Lane, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459. Sales are the responsibility of the artist. Your contact information will be provided to viewers. No art may be removed before the end of the exhibit. Artwork not for sale should be identified NFS.

ARTIST’S ATTENDANCE AT OPENING RECEPTION
Artists’ attendance is encouraged. Artists will have opportunity to meet patrons, promote their work, and network with other artists. Awards will be presented at the opening reception which is Friday, April 3rd.
