“Top of the Class” is a juried art exhibition presented by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County in partnership with Northwest Florida State College. This exhibition is part of the continuing effort of the A+Art Committee, whose mission is to showcase the work of CAA member artists and to enhance the public spaces of the South Walton Center of Northwest Florida State College. The exhibition will be displayed at the South Walton Center of NWFSC, at 109 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, FL, from April 3 until May 29, 2015.

We are asking for recent art or fine art photography made within the past two years, not previously shown by A+Art. Each artist may submit one or two entries. All entries must be one-of-a-kind, produced solely by the artist. Source material and inspiration must be original. No print reproductions will be accepted. Artwork must be appropriate for exhibition to the general public, which the venue refers to as “family-friendly”. Due to space constraints, this show is limited to artwork that can be hung on a wall. Artwork must be dry and ready to hang, with wire attached for hanging. The submitted digital images must be accurate images of the art. Accepted works must match their submitted images. Artwork not meeting the above criteria will not be accepted or judged. See size requirement below.

Maximum size of the framed work: Height plus width (dimensions of two sides of the work) must not exceed 72 inches. Unframed gallery-wrapped canvas is acceptable only if it is at least 1½ inches deep, if the sides are completely painted, and no staples are visible.

Files should be submitted in JPEG format, not more than 1 MB in size, with recommended size not less than 900 pixels nor more than 1800 pixels. Do not send thumbnails.

Please email photos of up to 2 of your recent artworks in jpg format

In your email subject line, please write TOP OF THE CLASS followed by your last name, first name and then the title of your artwork. You will need to send a separate email for each submission. In the text of the email, please give us the following information:

The exhibition is selected by the juror from digital images on March 13, 2015. The juror will determine awards from the actual accepted artwork.

Artists whose work is accepted will receive further instructions on delivery. The total number of entries accepted is based on the juror’s decisions relative to display space available, regardless of the number of entries received. Accepted work must be hand-delivered onMarch 27th, dry and ready to exhibit, and with the proper hanging mechanism (using D-rings and wire, with no sawtooth hangers). Please test the hanging wire, to ensure that art hangs flat to the wall and wire is not exposed to the viewer. Artwork will need to be picked up following the exhibition on Monday, June 1st.
