Has anyone used catnip oil to repel dog flies? I read that this can be effective. If you used it and it worked, how did you use it? Thanks.

Replacing dog flies with frisky biting cats is not wise.

The only thing that works for flies is to take a family to the beach, set up chairs, umbrella, cooler, toys. Leave them as bait and walk 20 yards down the beach.

we bought "bug ban" spray lotion at the suggestion of a friend - available at gulf place pharmacy or on amazon. seems to work great for the biting flies. smells like cake batter.

Ok so I tried cake batter and that doesn't work but I did have some folks licking me, so I got that going for me.
