The Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida responded when Children?s Volunteer Health Network requested grant funds to initiate and support a mobile dental bus program for children in our area who cannot afford dental care.
On March 20, CVHN and the Blue Foundation will welcome the arrival of ?Big Blue,? our mobile dental clinic. Big Blue will house the Just for Grins Dental Bus Program which will provide preventive dental care and education to kids in our area. CVHN knows how important this service is in our community because everyday we facilitate dental care for children as young as 5 years old who have seriously progressed dental illness and need dental treatment such as multiple extractions and root canals. CVHN saw the need to provide early intervention and preventive dental care to transition these kids away from emergency dental care to preventive dental care. The Blue Foundation agreed with us and awarded us $96,000 toward our goal of keeping kids healthy, happy and in school through better dental health. Just for Grins will benefit our kids no longer need expensive emergency dental treatment. The community will benefit as well.
Please join us in celebration at noon on March 20 in the Winn-Dixie parking lot, 130 Scenic Gulf Drive, across from the Silver Sands Outlet Center as we welcome ?Big Blue? and the Blue Foundation. Food and entertainment will be provided.
