My husband is looking for a career/job in his field. He has a degree in Conservation Biology and is incredibly intelligent and passionate about it. He loves to learn and share his knowledge with others. Any suggestions in our area? We are in Santa Rosa Beach currently, but he would be willing to drive. Thanks!

Try Eglin Air Force Base and Tyndall Air Force base - they have a lot of sensitive land they manage and may hire contractors.

Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance at Northwest Florida State College is active in the area spanning the bay from east to west, and the coastal dune lakes. It would be a good place to volunteer to meet people and find out about jobs.

Other places to volunteer:
EO Wilson Biophilia Center in Freeport (possible job)
South Walton Community Council
South Walton Turtle Watch
Walton County Tourist Development Council
Grayton, Camp Creek, And Topsail Hill Preserve State Parks
Coffeen Nature Preserve
UF/IFAS Extension Walton County has many programs, including a master naturalist program.
South Walton Artificial Reef Association

I would love to see a program for locals and tourists about our local ecology, habitats, flora and fauna. He could include some fun aspects like habitat walks, biking, paddling, etc.

If he is interested in writing and/or photography have him contact us at SoWal.com. Of course he can always post here! ;)
