DIGITAL GRAFFITI NEWS
Digital Graffiti From Home: A Virtual DG Celebration May 11-17
#dgfromhome

News from Alys Beach Monday, May 5, 2020

Despite the current circumstances, we will always find a way to celebrate - the big and the small. While Digital Graffiti has been rescheduled for October 2-3, 2020, we want to honor a festival that has brought us so much joy & creativity each May by initiating #dgfromhome, a virtual DG celebration, during what would have been our original DG weekend and we want you to participate! For those of you who, like us, have so many fond memories of Digital Graffiti and look forward to that tradition year after year, we have something exciting in store!

Follow Along on Instagram: @dgalysbeach @alysbeachfl
May 11th - 17th, follow along on the @dgalysbeach and @alysbeachfl Instagram accounts as we flashback to years past, get an inside look at how digital art is created, enjoy a live DJ set & more!

Experience DG From Home
To make things interesting, we have created an opportunity for you to experience Digital Graffiti in your own backyard... or living room, theatre room, even your kitchen - anywhere you can comfortably and safely enjoy this intimate DG experience! We want you to immerse yourself in the art and honor Digital Graffiti with us through your own #DGfromhome adventure.

Though a projector is best for displaying the art, we understand that not everyone has one. In the true spirit of the arts, get creative with your resources! Projecting can also come in the form of connecting to your TV, watching on your phone, laptop, etc. - all in all, we want you to enjoy this beautiful art with us! We'll keep it simple and easy; we have provided a list of tips, FAQ's and more information - you'll find this below.

For those interested in participating, please email events@alysbeach.com to let us know you'd like to be a part of #DGfromhome. The Events Team will email a dropbox link to download the #DGfromhome digital art loop on Monday, May 11th.

We are all in this together and we encourage you to share your own #DGfromhome experience via social media. Be on the lookout for your images and videos as well as others' as we share your #DGfromhome posts throughout the week on Instagram. Please also share these images and videos by emailing events@alysbeach.com so that we can include these in our round-up video commemorating the #DGfromhome event.

Should you have any questions regarding your technical set-up for projecting, please email events@alysbeach.com. We will consult with our Technical Support Team and will get back with you.

Share DG Memories
Our last call to action as we celebrate #DGfromhome should be an easy one! We want you to reminisce with us as we look back on the history of Digital Graffiti. Share your DG memories on social media by posting your past DG photos - photos of the art, your experience at the VIE Awards Parties or Caliza After Parties, food and cocktail favorites, EPIC Photobooth memories... the possibilities are endless! We'll be on the lookout for these throughout the week and will repost your shares on our social platforms for all to enjoy.

Have any questions? Please visit our FAQ's page here.

ALYS BEACH
If you're fan of vacationing along 30A, especially in Alys Beach, you're likely familiar with the Alys Beach Digital Graffiti festival. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's festival has been rescheduled to fall, but the folks behind the celebration wanted to do something special to bring the fun into your homes.

Going on now through May 17th, #DGfromhome will be hosted on the Alys Beach and Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach Instagram accounts, Facebook pages, DigitalGraffitiFestival and AlysBeachFL, and on 30A.com.

"In keeping with the full Digital Graffiti experience, #DGfromhome will be an immersive, participatory virtual event. The digital artwork created and carefully curated for the festival is designed for an interactive experience, and audience engagement transforms the art and informs the creative process," a press release for the virtual event reads. "Though we’re unable to gather and interact with the art projected onto the iconic white architecture of Alys Beach, we invite everyone to come together in family groups to project/display/interact with these artworks in their own homes."

In terms of what you'll be able to see, the at-home virtual festival will show displays from previous years of the event, as well as broadcast interviews with past Digital Graffiti artists and a message from the event curator, and the streaming of a live DJ set. Partner 30A.com will be putting on a DG-themed trivia event, in addition to providing artwork for digital displays for individuals to share in their own homes or backyards.
