DirecTV has reached an agreement with ESPN to carry the new SEC Network when it launches Aug. 14. The agreement with the nation's largest satellite provider will substantially increase the reach of the Charlotte-based network, which already had carriage deals with providers reaching more than 60 million homes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. SEC Network is a venture between ESPN and the Birmingham-based SEC. The network launches Aug. 14, while its first football game will be Texas A&M versus South Carolina on Aug. 28.
